I’m finally off Roaccutane so I’ve started experimenting with some of the skincare I received earlier this year. Among them is the Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant. For quite some time, sunscreen was our biggest anti-ageing message. But by now, most of you know the importance of wearing a daily sunblock, on the radar now is the damage that pollution causes to our skin. Did you know that pollution has an effect on your skin’s ageing? Those who live in cities are likely to age faster than those that don’t. Many brands have launched products that deal with this pollution and Dermalogica has launched some too.
The Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant is a souped-up version of their Daily Microfoliant with a focus on resurfacing, removing pollutants and anti-ageing. Ingredients include charcoal to draw out impurities, Niacinimide and Red Algae to target ageing and AHA to exfoliate.
My experience with this product is that it is far stronger than the Daily Microfoliant when it comes to the actual exfoliation. It might be that I’ve just been on Roaccutane and I can feel that it sensitises my face if I use it too roughly. The key would be to use *gentle* circular motions. While the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant almost fully dissolves, this doesn’t and there is some stronger manual exfoliation when you’re using it.
Other than the mild sensitivity I experienced, once I figured it out I started loving it. It strips light makeup off my face and leaves my skin feeling smooth after use. I always experience slight brightening when using exfoliation products, but I can’t tell you whether it lasts because I always use this in the evening to prep my skin for my serums. With no breakouts in sight, this is definitely a winner!
Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant retails for R1 180 at Dermalogica stores and salons. As always with Dermalogica products I always find that I get quite a bit of use from them, and this is no exception.
