I’m always on the look out for good BB creams, you guys know that I don’t like to wear foundation all the time, especially since my skin has been sensitive recently. Instead a bb cream and some concealer does the trick. It doesn’t dry my skin out and provides me with some natural coverage. I enjoy wearing my Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Cushion with Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer. Once I received the Avene Hydrance Optimale hydrating skin tone perfector I swapped out the Lancome cushion and replaced it with this. Avene’s Hydrance Optimale hydrating skin tone perfector is a somewhat bb- cream that is available in two textures (not colours). There is a version for normal to combination skin and another version for dry skin. I received the version for normal to combination skin.
The Avene Hydrance Optimale hydrating skin tone perfector is part of their Hydrance Optimale range which includes the Avene Thermal Spring water and the Hydrance Optimale Hydrating serum. By using all three products together, you should find your skin feeling hydrated and glowing. You’re supposed to apply a mist of their spring water, followed by a pump of the serum and then the skin tone perfector. Instead I follow-up the serum with my moisturiser, sunblock and then the skin tone perfector. The result is a nice dewy, natural complexion that I really like (and I’ve been complimented on many times). I often follow it up with some concealer and it’s perfect.
The Avene Hydrance Optimale hydrating skin tone perfector is tinted, but it is a very light tint and while I can clearly see it before blending, it becomes very natural after and almost no evidence of the colour is left. I’ve swatched it below to give you an idea. The second shot is rubbed in a little and the last shot is fully blended. It’s got a really subtle blurring effect that I like, but the texture doesn’t feel like it has much (or any) silicone at all. It’s a really nice creamy texture that I like.
Overall, the Avene Hydrance Optimale hydrating skin tone perfector is a win. You can get it at Dischem and Clicks stores nationwide for a RSP 0f R199.
