It’s been close to a year since I’ve done an OOTD post. A large reason for that is because I haven’t been buying much. Over the past year I’ve started focusing on reducing my life to a less materialistic place. I have been successful with clothing but not with beauty! My beauty cupboard is still stacked to the brim, and it isn’t going to change. But life is all about balance right?
I decided to shoot this OOTD because a few things clicked into place recently:
- I dyed my hair black so I could finally use the extensions I got from Irresistible Me
- I had temporary fillers done on my lips, and
- I bought some Docs this year.
I’ll be talking more about how I use extensions and documenting the lip fillers in posts of their own soon so keep an eye out for that.
I have a really big change *possibly* coming up and with it I’ve been feeling myself change and prepare for it. Looking at these photos makes me feel like I’ve changed so much that many of my older look posts don’t really represent my style right now. Yes, I am very girly, but I don’t wear much heels anymore, I’m so much happier in a pair of leather flats and now my Docs. I’ve successfully worn these Docs to parties, dinners and picnics. Your mileage may vary but they’re probably one of the best buying decisions I’ve made. I’ve become a fan of keeping things really simple and casual, especially on the weekends when I’ve had enough of our dress code at work. In a way, this look post represents me when I’m off duty, I won’t always put on a full face of makeup but I almost always will wear a dark lippie and my Docs. I’m becoming more fearless in expressing who I am. Recently I’ve been wearing Urban Decay’s Blackmail on my lips ALL THE TIME which is a large departure from how I felt when I just received the palette.
So here I am, a faux-teenager in almost black lipstick.
What I’m wearing:
Shorts: Cotton On
Shoes: Dr. Martens
Lips: Urban Decay Blackmail
