Revlon Colourstay 2 in 1 Compact Makeup and Concealer

revlon colourstay 2 in 1 compact makeup and concealerI must say, it’s been a while since I tried a Revlon foundation, nevermind a compact. I tend to stay away from compacts because I prefer the feel of a liquid and I don’t have oily skin so I know that a powder finish is unlikely to work on me.

I received the Revlon Colourstay 2 in 1 Compact Makeup and Concealer and it’s definitely interesting. The compact includes a small tray of concealer and a full tray of foundation. Both of which are creamy/balmy. The concealer shade is also cleverly one shade lighter than the foundation shade so that you can use it as an undereye concealer.

The packaging of the compact is very practical and has it’s own mirror and application sponge. It’s definitely a cute product, who wouldn’t want to touch up their concealer and foundation on the go?

The foundation

The foundation is actually quite a nice, creamy formula that leaves a light-medium coverage on my skin. I hate compacts where the cream is much thicker because it makes blending challenging and can quickly look cakey, but I found this foundation to be very workable and natural. The foundation leaves a matte, natural finish on my skin that I very much approve of! It wasn’t what I was expecting at all. You can see how nice and creamy it is in the swatches below.

The concealer

The concealer is thicker than the foundation but I didn’t find it very effective. It was light-medium and too thick for me to use effectively. However, if your skin is not very dry like mine you’ll probably be more successful.

Meager concealer aside, I really like this compact.  You can buy it in -store from any Revlon retailer nationwide.

I would love to buy this compact but unfortunately Revlon hasn’t brought their medium shades to South Africa. I may get one from abroad but that depends on exchange rates.

I read about the shades internationally as well. It seems like there isn’t the biggest range 🙁
