After spending two weeks in Japan, the firs thing that struck me about Dubai when we arrived for our second layover was the sheer size of everything. In Japan I had grown used to tiny bathrooms, apartments and even tinier restaurants. I’m a small person I quickly grew comfortable with small spaces, but they’re not always appropriate. Sometimes, we, as humans need space. And you’ll find it at the Arjaan by Rotana.
My husband and I were booked into a 1 bedroom apartment, which is a 65sqm apartment complete with a private balcony. When we arrived, we were upgraded to a palatial two bedroom apartment. It was huge and had 3 balconies. Yes, 3. Every room, including the living room had its own private balcony. The furnishings were simple and definitely suited to a business or family traveler. The kitchen was fully stocked with appliances and the lounge and dining area could comfortably seat six at a time. It’s no cramped hotel room, I can promise you that. If you need it, the three bedroom apartments apparently come with maids quarters too.
The hotel also offers apartments with private plunge pools. I’ve always been a fan of private pools because of the privacy and freedom you have compared to the public pool at hotels. Being obsessed with trends, the decor wasn’t to my taste, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t deserve the price. The bathrooms and kitchen were laden with marble and were massive. I’m really upset that it was raining the day we were in Dubai because the pool area at Arjaan is fantastic. The large pool overlooks the skyline and the gardens are beautiful. I really loved experiencing the structure of the building and it would have been great to just laze around in the sun at the pool.
I’ve had mixed experiences in Dubai, but I have no complaints about the service at Arjaan. They offered us an early check in and provided us with complementary coffee and snacks while we waited for our room. They catered to all our special requests and the cost of the hotel taxi was well priced too. Service at meals was prompt and friendly, no complaints there. 🙂
The hotel is located in Dubai Media City which is close to Jumeirah beach and the malls are easily accessible using the tram and metro services. You can also just take a taxi to the malls which should cost you around 60Dirhams one way.
So, if you’re travelling over an extended period for business or in a large group then the Arjaan Rotana is a good choice. They’re also surprisingly well priced!
