Just before my last exam I was invited to experience the Tapas menu at Rain Urban Boutique spa, a womens-only spa conveniently situated in Rosebank near The Firs. From the minute I stepped into Rain I was entranced. The normal menu of treatments is customisable and based on your needs. You don’t pay for what facial you’re getting, but for the time and what is included in the treatment. From there you can choose what you prefer. Book a massage and you’re not restricted to a back, neck or arm massage, but rather 60 minutes of massage. You can even choose the scents that will be used. The Spa uses Matsimela and Esse products.
The Tapas menu is a set of three 15 minute treatments that are perfect for your lunch break and are perfect for a quick refresh before an event. The Esse facial is quick, but will leave your skin feeling calm and relaxed, the Matsimela Mani does not include colour but is perfect for refreshing your hands halfway into the wear of a gel manicure. The neck massage is customisable and you can choose a hand or foot massage instead.
The treatments, priced at R115, R50 and R80 each are affordable and very easy to fit into any routine. It’s perfect for those not ready to spend a large amount of money on treatments and those who still want to get used to a spa environment. Not that you’d need it, everyone at Rain is friendly and understanding. If you needed further encouragement, they offer free wifi at the salon too.
I definitely recommend a visit to Rain, you won’t be disappointed.
