When I was approached to attend a spa treatment at the Soulstice Day Spa at the Silverstar Casino at Mogale City I didn’t really know what to expect. Especially since I was booked for the Polynesian Spa Ritual – a full body exfoliation, massage and sacred oil application. When I got there I was more than impressed with the venue, the treatment and the professionals that worked there.
Now from the start.
The Soulstice Day Spa has won the Best Hotel Spa award and have a long list of facilities as well. In-city spas tend to be a little smaller and have less space for as many facilities. I am particularly a fan of the indoor-heated pool and am dying to try the flotation pool when I go back. The spa is a full service facility and they offer a large variety of treatments. In addition, they also have an on-site store featuring a variety of luxe skin care products. It makes a trip to the spa very convenient.
One thing that struck me about the spa was the white wall that covered one side of the relaxation areas. It let in sunlight and warmth, but not too much that you were sweating away or squinting. This wall also covers one side of the indoor pool and really makes the area pleasantly heated and bright. They also have the heated water loungers which are perfect for basking in the light.
From the minute I got to the spa I was treated with the best of care, given a tour and taken to the bathrooms in the most professional manner. Then, after stripping down and putting on the lush, soft gown and reaching into the pockets to put my phone there, I found a tissue. A used tissue. Yes, a used tissue in my gown. That is pretty much the grossest thing I have ever experienced. But I moved on, for the sake of the review 😉 I don’t think I will forgive them though.
The Polynesian Spa Ritual was perfect, the exfoliation felt a little rough on my feet but left my skin moisturised and soft when I rinsed it off. The massage therapist was attentive to my needs and offered any advice when questioned. She and I happily yakked along through the treatment. Afterwards I lazed around and was treated to the perfect lunch. A toasted sandwich with Pringles on the side. I like how I still had some junk food, but not really. The smoothie was great as well. Overall, I loved the Soulstice Day Spa. It’s perfect for a girl’s getaway especially with the connected Southern Sun. Just next time guys – give us only clean gowns. It’s gross and terribly unhygienic. They also have a branch in Centurion for those further north.
