Beauty Review: Essence All-In-One BB Cream

Essence All in One BB Cream review

I received a sample of the essence BB cream in medium a while back and safe to say, I’m pretty impressed. The BB cream is moisturising and provides a sheer-medium coverage with a matte finish. It really does even out my skin tone and leaves me feeling a little more confident to face the day. It doesn’t make my face shiny, but I do have to blot it after a few hours.

What I don’t like about it is that it ONLY comes in 3 shades and medium is the darkest shade. I am not really a fan of how it matches my skin, it’s very pink toned and wouldn’t suit those with yellower skins. I wore it thinking that I would look fine but one of my colleagues actually noticed my ‘pale’ skin. So if you’re NC 43+ this is definitely not for you. For the lucky ladies that this matches, it’s a really good choice still. It’s great value for money, it’s a real pity that is doesn’t come in darker shades.

In the swatch it really looks like it matches my hand, but when I spread it on my face it is a little too pink. Doesn’t stop me from wearing it mixed with moisturiser though 🙂

My tube was a little overzealous and could not keep itself inside the tube, perhaps it just got pushed around too much in shipping because I haven’t seen anyone else mention this!

I wanted to try this, but I do have more yellow toned skin, so I guess it won’t work for me.

It’s best If you just try at the store. It might work, if we’re lucky 🙂

I’ll try it next time. But I got some Almay BB cream and it matches my skin perfectly.

My mom has been nagging me to try this and I’ve been very
2 minded because I love the creams I am currently using but I love the way you explained this product so now I am willing to try it and see how it turns out

What is the coverage like with this product? I have very fair skin with pink/reddish undertones and because I scar/mark easily I often have marks from periodic hormone-induced blemishes and I am looking for cover without having to wear full on makeup everyday. So I’m looking for an affordable medium coverage BB Cream that I can pair with my essence mattifying compact powder for medium coverage and that will also moisturize without leaving an oily or sticky residue, as I am experiencing at the moment with the Clicks Skin Care Collection Rooibos and Antioxidants SPF15 Day Cream. Any suggestions?

It is quite light- medium. I often wear BB cream and then use concealer on my blemishes. To prevent a sticky feeling you can apply less bb cream and apply it as if it was a moisturiser. This will give you lighter coverage. My best suggestion would be to go with a concealer + BB cream combination for the best coverage.

I do often have oily and shiny skin as well, but with a powder this worked well 🙂
