I was sent the 3 step range from the latest Pond’s skincare range, their Perfect Colour Complex Naturals range. The range contains Green Tree extract which apparently prevents excess melanin formation. This helps keep darker skins more toned looking. I’m a huge uneven skin-tone sufferer so I’m always looking for products to help even that out. This range is for ‘all skin shades’ so I assume it’s not whitening, just toning. The range contains a mildy exfoliating facial foam, a toner and a day cream. Pond’s claims that this range is the ‘gentle and effective solution to even toned skin’.
The Gentle Exfoliating Facial Foam
I swatched it below, it is a very heavy foaming facial wash with little green beads in the foam. While washing my face I can’t feel the beads so I can’t say this is exfoliating but it leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh. I also love the scent of the wash. it left my face feeling clean and smooth. I loved that it didn’t try my skin out as well. I’m not very used to foaming cleansers anymore but this one was gentle enough.
The Toning Lotion
This is my favourite product from the range. Because of my obsession with asian products I’m used to using a toner being called ‘toning lotion’. It contains some green tea extract and I spotted castor oil in the ingredient list. It was also nice to see Green Tea extract close to the top of the ingredient list instead of at the bottom. Apart from toning, toners help bring your skin back to a normal PH after washing while tightening pores. This toner feels gentle on my skin and doesn’t dry it out at all. I definitely don’t get that strong alcohol smell that some toners have which is a huge plus.
The Day cream
The day cream leaves my skin matte without drying it out. It does also contain Pronutrients and Green Tea extract. It also has quite a pleasant smell.
One a whole I love this range. It’s not harsh on my sensitive skin and didn’t dry it out. I never once felt like my skin was pushed past it’s limits. I do think it’s a great daily-use range especially if you have sensitive or dry skin. Even though this is an exfoliating foam, I do think it isn’t strong enough to do any rough work, which is both good and bad. This gentle range leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean (who wouldn’t want that!).
