Bioderma Sensibio H20 | Beauty Review

bioderma sensibio h20 review

I claimed to be buying into hype. I was. But this is definitely better than what I’m currently using to remove makeup on my face. I am in love with this makeup remover/cleanser from Bioderma.

What is this really?

The Sensisbio H20 is a Micellar water. What is Micellar? Technically a Micelle is a molecule immersed in another, so an oil molecule immersed in water. I’ve read quite a bit about it and apparently ANY CLEANSER can be called micellar, but what we’re really considering as Micellar Waters in beauty are these ‘cleansers’ that look and feel like water on our skin.

The Bioderma seems to be the most readily available Micellar water in South Africa. You can purchase the 250ml from Dischem for R140. This does not come close to as cheap as buying it in Europe of course.

N.B There are two micellar waters by Bioderma, the green bottle is for problematic skin and the pink one (Sensibio) is for normal and sensitive skin. I’m using the version for normal/sensitive skin and have no clue how well the green one works.

I plastered quite a bit of makeup onto my face. On my right eye I thickly lined the top lash with MAC Fluidline gel eyeliner and topped it with a black shimmery pigment. I plastered it on. I then finishes with a highlighter and Lancôme Hypnose mascara. As you can probably see – I wasn’t neat with the pigment.

On my left eye I’m wearing a dark, shimmery purple shadow, with the Borjois Liner Princeau eyeliner and their 1001 cils mascara. I also added highlighter. On my face I’m wearing BB cream with concealer.

The instructions say to soak a cotton wool pad in the solution and remove makeup. What I did was hold the soaked cotton wool pad on my eye for a second or so and then wipe.

Did it work?

I was told this would be life-changing. It was. I don’t think I will ever use another remover again. My skin and eyes felt smooth and clean afterwards, there was no burning and my eyes didn’t feel like they were going to fall off. I’ve been using a creamy eye makeup remover and I must say that this was way better. One cotton wool pad removed my entire face of makeup.

The product is fragrance free but I did get a small wiff of something, nothing really unpleasant though. I also love the spout, it’s quite easy to use as much as you need. It’s definitely something I’ll repurchase.

Yes, this was not a lookpost. I just had to take photos of the sheer horror I made to remove.

Absolutely love this product! great to remove make up. I use it on a cotton pad soaked with warm water! Gentle enough on my sensitive skin and only way to make the 250ml bottle last a month! I tried the Bioderma Sensibio sébium H2O (the green one) my skin was literally burning!
