As I mentioned before, Essence sent me a bunch of goodies to try out. I have already reviewed the My Skin tinted moisturizer and the Pure Skin SOS Spot Killer. Today I’ll be reviewing the Pure Skin Natural Cover Moisturizer.
The Essence Pure Skin range caters for problem skin, those with breakouts and combination to oily skin. I’m actually grateful that I got these products because my skin has started to become ridiculously gross (I may be over-dramatic at times). This tinted moisturizer comes in two shades. The darker skin variant fits my MAC NC 43 skin very well, but the lighter one would not suit very fair people as well. Make sure that there is a tester available when you buy this so you don’t end up making a mistake though.
It does have a slightly chemical smell, but I find it pleasant and not overpowering. This is a very sheer coverage moisturizer that sinks into the skin pretty quickly and leaves my skin looking fantastically matte. I’ve been using this for a few days and it hasn’t broke me out yet (!!). Unfortunately, I can’t say that this lasted very long. It seemed to fade away halfway through the day.
N.B. Now that it’s summer, don’t forget to wear a sunscreen!
Would I purchase this? At the cost of around R30 it is definitely value for money if you have problem skin but aren’t looking for heavy coverage. Essence is still the best value for money budget brand out there.
You can see what it looks like in warm light and it a more cool toned light above. Remember, a little always goes a long way with these products.
