I now proclaim yesterday as Kiehl’s Day! Kiehls South Africa finally held the launch for their first store in Africa at Sandton City. There were two events, a small informal event for bloggers to gain a better insight into the Kiehl’s brand and a VIP event later. We were taken through the whole Kiehl’s story by the Business Unit Manager Azhar Moosa. What I love about Kiehls, not mentioning the incredible quality of the products, their fantastic sampling program and their money-back guarantee is how passionate everyone that works with this brand is. The dedication that they have is just incredible.
I met the lovely Chantelle Bester (Not Another Poppie) and an an amazing group of female bloggers. But, I ended up nearly fainting and well, that was the end of my socialising for the afternoon. I browsed the store and snapped (many) shots just to demonstrate how much they were able to put into their small store-in-store at Edgars. I have been loving these Edgars partnerships and my favourite is definitely Kiehl’s. The store-in-store makes this alternative luxury brand feel so accessible and the prices are very competitive as well!
The VIP launch was littered with South African celebs. I finally had a chance to wear my lbd from Zara and an incredible red heel from Luella which worked perfectly for the ‘New York City Chic’ dress code finished off with a slick of red lipstick. I also made an effort to open my mouth and talk to people because I generally am so quiet at functions (writing can’t always translate into talking). I am so glad I did, I met some incredible people and look forward to working with some of them in the future. I met the wonderful Ursula Chikane who plastered a huge smile on my face with her showers of compliments. I absolutely loved spending time with new people and learning (even more) about the brand. I think I could get used to these events 😛
Then, there was the announcement, Kiehl’s South Africa has partnered with Stop Hunger Now and are giving back to their community which is something they strongly believe in. The Keihl’s brand has really made a mark on myself and many others. A brand that honours it’s roots, values the customer and believes in community responsibility is a brand I will openly support. I will definitely be heading back there and stocking up on more supplies.
I love fun launches and this cute concept really captured my heart <3
