Moroccanoil. We’ve all heard about it and the fabulousness of it all.
The lovely folks over at Moroccanoil sent me samplesof the recently ‘Brought to SA’ Curl Defiing cream and Luminizing Hairspray.
Both products come in generously sized containers with ample product. The packaging is sturdy and great quality. I really do appreciate sturdy packaging, like many of my clumsy sisters-in-arms (well, we have to hold hands otherwise we’d fall). Half my bottles and tubes in the shower are broken in some way and I hate it.
My favourite has got to be the Curl Defining Cream.
It’s a soft cream that smells DIVINE. Yes, it smells DIVINE. The instructions say to apply a generous amount to towel-dried hair and I used my fingers. I ended up walking around in a cloud of what my boyfriend described as ‘cologne’. I brushed my hair and let it dry naturally because I wanted to see what the result was without any other effort.
My hair came out smooth, soft and shiny. I expected this to enhance my waves but it smoothed them out and my hair was left practically straight (BONUS!). I guess my hair is not as naturally curly/wavy as I thought.
The luminous Hairspray doesn’t have the cloying smell that suffocates you and nearly chokes you. It is definitely a strong smell, but it’s not entirely overbearing. I used the spray to hold my hair in this ridiculous weather and it did keep up. It didn’t create that ‘plastic’ look that hairsprays often create and left my hair with a nice smooth, natural sheen.
Overall I really love both of these products and all the Moroccanoil claims I’ve read seem to be worthy.
