Spring 2012 Neon Fashion

I’ve always felt that Neon was a little tacky. It reminded me of the 80s and well, there’s good reason for that. I don’t know if dressing like The Spice Girls in teir prime is really a look I want to go for and if I wanted that I could just wear Flatforms

But Neon has come back in a much more dignified way this year. It’s not about rave clubs or Pop music, it’s about wearing fun colourswith well fitting, NORMAL clothing:

1. Neon Accents

Adding a neon accent adds the colour POP but without the 80s. I will definitely be rocking neon on my shoes. There’s a really simple DIY here that you can use to do this Neon Accent shoes

2. Neon Colour Blocking

For the daring. Try to wear well-fitting structured clothing if you’re doing this.

3. Neon Nails

Neon Nails are amazing. Not something I’d sport at work, but something for Friday night (which, I might add- is tonight!)

4. Neon Makeup

For the REALLY daring. I’m currently wearing a neon-ish, pastelish lipstick that I found very randomly. The boyfriend claims it looks a bit like Crayola on my face. I beg to differ. I kind of love a little Neon in the lipstick, but make sure you don’t go overboard.

I’m actually starting to warm to the Neon trend. This is trending for Spring, but I see no reason to not add colour to winter in SA.

Would you rock it?
